Privacy Policy & General Data Protection Regulation

This privacy policy sets out how I, Teal Joseph Salkeld, the owner of Teal Handyman Services, use and protect any information that you give me when you contact me or use my service. I am committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should I ask you to provide information by which you can be identified, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy policy.

I may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 26 April 2022.

Information collected

I may collect the following information:

• name and contact information including email address

• photos or video footage showing before and after images of work I undertake

• demographic information such as postcode, and home improvement preference

What I do with the information

I require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

• Internal record keeping of Teal Handyman Services clients. Including financial records necessary to submit Self Assessment Tax Returns.

• I may use the information to improve my products and services, and to assist me in keeping in contact with you.

• I may use photos and video footage of work I undertake on my website, Facebook business page, Instagram or other advertising materials. I will ensure these photos and video footage do not disclose your address or personal data unless you actively choose to share that information by being present in the video or photo.

• I may periodically send promotional emails about new products, special offers or other information which I think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.

Security

I am committed to ensuring that your information is stored securely. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, I have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the identifiable information I have about you. I used a personal laptop and mobile phone both of which are password protected, both are either on my person or locked within my home. I have further password protection for my business email account to which only I have access. I will never sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless you ask me to, or if I am required by law to do so.

Controlling your personal information

You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information in the following ways:

• You can inform me in writing that you do not want your information to be used by me for direct marketing purposes.

• if you have previously agreed to me using your personal information for direct marketing purposes, you may change your mind at any time by informing me in writing. You may also request the removal of any video or photo in which you or your home address is identifiable from social media or my website You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998.
